Overview

We are currently looking for candidates to fill our open Lien Supervisor position.  The Supervisor of Liens is responsible for the oversight of the on-site operations, using Third Party Liability Claims to file hospital liens in connection with Motor Vehicle accidents.  This includes completing lien recording and releases and communicating with appropriate insurance companies and/or attorneys. 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the on-site Lien Specialist team to ensure prompt lien recordings and releases
  • Ensure adherence to all RCA policies and procedures by all RCA onsite employees and coordinate with area management to address variances in process or procedures
  • Guide staff in daily process and provide feedback and guidance on questions/cases with which they may not be familiar
  • Assist area management with the completion of account audits and reporting.
  • Assist team with generating and reviewing in-house census/referrals and identify patients eligible for Third Party Collection Activities
  • Investigate and verify all details related to the accident including making sure the patient received medical treatment within the 72 hour required timeframe.
  • Gather any necessary police reports/records or other public documents
  • Initiate and complete the lien process.  
  • Notify appropriate insurance companies and/or attorneys of any lien filed and/or released.    
  • Maintain constant communication with insurance companies, attorneys, adjusters, patients and other interested parties to help ensure maximum reimbursement. 
  • If needed, request letters of protection from attorneys. 
  • Maintaining accurate records of all filings
  • Manage the release of any liens once receipt of payment/settlement arrangement has been made. 
  • Ensure any reimbursement payments received correspond to the balances shown in hospital records.  In the event if any insufficient payment has been made, you will contact the payer to facilitate corrective payments. 
  • Be prepared to assist with extra duties of staff who may be absent or behind on assigned duties. 
  • Complete all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Job Requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience in a Customer Service environment
  • Demonstrated leadership with peers and subordinates that provides a history of positive and appropriate interactions
  • Proven strong organizational and interpersonal skills including time management and prioritization
  • Demonstrated skill in utilization of office equipment including computers
  • Must be self-motivated, highly dependable and reliable
